My WA Trip
I had such a great time in WA with your fantastic Euro Camper...what a tremendous vehicle...comfortable ,clean, well presented and terrific to drive. I could not believe how easy to drive, powerful and comfortable the Ford Transit was. It's going to be hard to go back to a Hi-Top!
I was also impressed with the service provided by Wayne and staff and Perth branch. They (and Wayne especially) were extremely courteous and helpful and went out of their way to make my holiday enjoyable.

We picked up our Sunrise Escape RV in California where we spent a couple of days touring Los Angeles and visiting famous land marks like holly wood.After a few days, we then set off to go to Las Vegas where we stayed at a lovely RV park called 'Sam's Town'. The place was really nice and it had a nice pool, casino and shopping center. We spent 2 days going around Las Vegas and went into some amazing places like 'New york New york', 'Paris', 'Bellagio' and a very tall tower called 'The Stratosphere'. The weather was very nice but also very hot with temperatures reaching over 30 degrees!After spending 2 days in Las Vegas, we set off for Bryce Canyon where we arrived to see 2 meters of snow on the the side of the roads! We stayed here for a night. We went on a horse ride into the canyon and visited many different view points. But that night we stayed for was a night to remember! The was a snow storm and the temperatures were well below freezing!the next morning we had a last few visits to some of the view points before leaving to go to Page where we visited 2 slot canyons called 'Upper Antelope Canyon' and 'Lower Antelope Canyon'. These canyons looked amazing inside! Some of the best photos I've ever taken were taken here!After spending a night there, we headed off to visit Monument Valley which is a valley with many big 'orange' rock formations. We went on a horse ride to get closer to these formations. I must say, the horse ride was pretty fun but at the same time, a bit dangerous as it was the first time any of us had been on a horse and we were galloping without and protective gear!We woke up bright and early the next morning to see sun rise and then left for one of the highlights of the trip.... The Grand Canyon!After a couple of hours driving in the RV, we arrived at the Grand Canyon where we were welcomed by a magnificent view! We visited many places and view points and we stayed in a nice RV park which had free shuttles to view points which was quite handy as parking our RV for every view point was easy...The next morning, we woke up bright and early again to get some pictures of the sunrise over the Grand Canyon. I got some very good pictures here too!We then left to spend 2 more days in Las vegas where we dropped off our RV and our then holiday unfortunately came to an end...Sunset over the Grand Canyon

Friday the 25th of November was the day, were we finally could pick up our motor home and travel to Port Douglas. It was a sunny day and we were all thrilled to go to Port Douglas. We chose to go with Apollo, as our friends who recently did the same sort of trip really advised us to and Apollo also seemed to be cheaper than the competitors. We mostly compared them with the better known brands Britz, Maui and Kea.
Initially our plan was to drive from Brisbane to Hervey Bay for our first night, but we end up driving to Airlie Beach. You might think why? But we were so thrilled to go to Port Douglas that we wanted to drive as far north as we could that day to spend most of our holiday in Port Douglas and Cairns. Driving through Australia was not boring at all especially because the variety of landscape. We were just enjoying the views and having a good time in our home on wheels.
Airlie beach was our first stop and it was just a really beautiful charming little town where we met some people from Europe, visited the market and walked on the beach. We were glad with the Apollo Deluxe’s cooking utensils as we were able to have some delicious homemade dinners. It baffled me that taking a shower in a motor home was not as bad as I thought it was. I always thought that it was somehow unpleasant to take a shower in a motor home, but I must say that in the Apollo Deluxe it was not at all. The ‘bathroom’ was actually quiet roomy.
After spending some time in Airlie beach our next stop was Port Douglas. The drive was just amazing were we saw a lot of kangaroos. Especially the drive between Cairns and Port Douglas was a little bit winding but the view was just astonishing. In Port Douglas we did probably the greatest thing and what I definitely would recommend to everyone: Snorkelling at the Great Barrier Reef. In one word: AMAZING! We also went to Mossman Gorge were we had a swim at first you think the water is really cold, but if you are in the water for a while it is getting warmer and after the swim you really feel refreshed (luckily Apollo provides towels as we run out of ours J ). We also went to the Daintree National Park. I was surprised with the fact that we did not had any troubles with the steep roads. The Deluxe must have had a very powerful engine I reckon. The Daintree National Park is just great, from beautiful beaches to some fantastic flora and fauna.

My partner and myself were coming to Christchurch for the New Zealand Cup and had the opportunity to spend a few extra days. Rather than stay in Christchurch we decided to take the opportunity to explore some of the treasures of the South Island. We mapped out a travel plan that would take us through the lakes district to Wanaka, on to Queenstown and then back up the West Coast though Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers and on to Greymouth before coming back to Christchurch through Arthurs pass.
After some research we selected an Apollo 6 berth van – just to provide us with some additional room to move. The staff at the depot in Christchurch were friendly and helpful and took us through the workings of the van. They were very thorough and we headed off with a degree of confidence. The first day of travel went well enough although the vehicle was occasionally underpowered (possibly a sign of things to come!)…
Sadly on day two the van suffered the first of its mechanical issues when it went into limp mode whilst coming up one of the passes out of Queenstown. Not the place to happen with nowhere to pull over and traffic building up behind you. Eventually I found enough shoulder to park and was able to restart the vehicle. The problem was glow plug related based on the dash warning light. A quick restart and we were on our way…
We continued on and made it to the west coast town of Haase where we stopped for the evening. Very pleasant scenery and it was great to see some ocean.
Sunday morning dawned and again after some breakfast we were off. The excitement of getting to the Glacier country and on to Greymouth or Hokitiki was growing. Sadly, some 10k out of Fox Glacier the poor Apollo had enough with the glow plug and engine management lights both lighting up and again placing us into limp mode.. I tried the restart and applied all of my diesel knowledge to the vehicle but alas it was not going to go out of limp mode. We made a decision to continue into Fox Glacier rather than park the camper by the side of the road and hitch a ride – better for all if the van is in a town we thought so the slow trip began.
Upon arrival we went to the BP and the staff there were great – but sadly they confirmed our worst fears – that van was going nowhere!

It was the easiest, most adventurous, happiest holiday ever.
We travelled 3,700 kms from Adelaide to Australia's heart centre Uluru and Kings Canyon in 10 days. Apollo made the booking, pick up and drop off easy.The motorhome was clean, comfortable and went beyond our expectations for a stress free escape. I work in the tourism industry and have travelled extensively in Australia, Europe, Asia and the South Pacific - this was one of the best holiday's ever!
Thanks Apollo, we'll be hiring again.

The magic of Kimberley's was all we had hoped for and so much more! Red roads, stunning scenery, gorgeous gorges - and a generous blanket of dust!
We hired an Apollo 4WD Campervan (no pitching a tent every night!) and headed off on a 3 week round trip - Broome to Broome via the legendary "4WD only" Gibb River Road and back on the Great Northern Hwy.
The "Gibb" was a driving adventure, through remote, rough and sandy roads to rocky river crossings on the way to the next beautiful gorge to hike and swim. Stunning landscapes and unbelievable colours gave each day a WOW factor and every night we camped in the most amazing bush camps with moon lit nights where no torch was required! And after the moon – were the millions of stars!
It was easy to cruise two weeks through our holiday on the Gibb - and with time now running a little short, we took our last photo of the dusty road, did a quick supply run to Kununurra and headed on to the Bungle Bungle.
And if we thought we had seen some spectacular country side - there was oh so much more to come! With the added bonus of a challenging 4WD road into the Bungle Bungle we searched for words to describe the beauty of Purnululu National Park. We took a couple of days to explore these stunning beehive landforms – and the last day ,went up in a helicopter (no doors), camera in hand – to complete our sense of awe at the vastness and beauty.This trip us just a small taste of stunning WA. We loved the freedom of a 4WD campervan - to travel where we wanted, and when...with everything at our finger tips! We’ll be back to explore some more!!

Myself and five others travelled and slept in the vehicle and all found it sufficiently spacious and comfortable whilst I was surprised of its maneuverability in car parks etc. Although I have drove them on the yard before I expected the Euro Deluxe to be a lot more difficult than it was to drive through towns and park in car parks.
My friends were very impressed with what was included in the vehicle it was more than what they had expected!.
Litchfield national park was really good. I would definitely recommend this, particularly Florence falls and for the more comfortable swimmers Wangi falls. There is a lot to do
Banyan Tree caravan park was quiet at this time of year and is great to relax, we felt it was a reasonable price ($25 for two with power and then $9 extra pp.

My wife Christine and I picked up a two-berth EuroTourer from the Auckland branch for a long weekend getaway. The introduction at check in and checkout was fine and after watching the video we were on the road. We travelled 150km south to Cambridge to enjoy a golfing weekend.
We found the vehicle nicely fitted out, comfortable easy driving along the motorway. Visibility was first class, and Christine said she felt very safe all along!
At the stopping points, accessibility to the vehicle was great through the wide opening doors all around. In particular we found the bed comfortable, and good night’s sleeps were enjoyed in the country. Nothing like waking up to a rooster’s crow for an ole farm boy. And for two golfers to watch the sun go down over the 18th and to wake up on the golf course is heaven!!
We’d also give special mention to the toilet which was easily accessible and convenient!
It was our first time in a campervan and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Will be back for more, and will also tell our family and friends!!
PS: The golf was enjoyable too!

Last month my husband and I travelled 2900 kms in our Apollo Campervan from Darwin to Broome. Compared to our other trips this was our best holiday and we would recommend it to all our friends.
The natural ancient beauty, history, people we met and above all the fun we had could not be surpassed.
From the beautiful Katherine Gorge to Cable Beach - we enjoyed our journey.
The colours of the Kimberleys epitomise the image of Australia. The unforgettable sunsets from bush to beach where golden light paints the sand deep red and the sky changes to a palette of red with pink, yellow, orange and purple.
Bush camping in our Apollo was fun and chatting to experienced campers as we enjoyed sharing new experiences, great stories and travel tips.
One feels a strong connection to the first Australians.
We are already planning our next Apollo trip to North Queensland.
Hope many other travellers get to follow and enjoy their Apollo adventures.

Seeing the news that Lake Eyre was flooding for an unprecedented third year in a row, we decided to go and see it while we had the chance. We flew to Adelaide, picked up our Apollo Nissan Patrol with a minimum of paperwork and no hassles, stopped for provisions then hit the road!
Driving north through the rugged Flinders Ranges, we had time for a (steep) hike to St Mary's Peak for stunning 360 degree views of the ancient hills. We drove out the next day along the pretty Geological Trail, happy to be in our Patrol as we bumped along dry creek beds past beautiful cliffs and rock formations.
We reached Muloorinna Station on the southeastern fringes of the Lake that night, arriving in time for a hot bath in the bore, entertained by the colourful and diverse local birdlife. Our evening together hit a slight hitch when several million sandflies joined us for dinner - our roomy vehicle saved the day though, and we were very grateful to eat "indoors" that night!
Up early the next morning for a scenic flight over the lake (actually two lakes), we got a birds-eye view and our first real perspective on the immense size of the lake. There was a striking contrast between the red desert soils and the swathes of green growth where floodwaters are inching their way along usually dry creeks and mudplains.
Later that day we reached the shores of Lake Eyre South to see and feel the great inland sea for ourselves. The salty sand crunched underfoot and the breeze was creating ripples on the water - but it was eerily quiet and absent the crabs, fish, rocks and anemones one usually expects at the seaside.
Continuing west towards Lake Eyre North, we stopped at several natural springs and a large artesian bore-cum-wetland. These oases of fresh water, surrounded by tall reeds and bursting with birds and other life, were dwarfed by the harsh desert surrounding them. We thoroughly enjoyed our two swims at Coward Springs - the height of luxury in the centre of our arid continent!
Arriving at Lake Eyre North the next day, we passed through black mudstone moonscapes and stopped at the still dry salt pan on its eastern shore, with salt crystals 1cm long. The beach was complete with seagulls, pelicans and what appeared to be dry seaweed along its shore (but was actually dead fish and beetles). The water was only ankle-deep - on the seagulls - so even Alison didn't manage a swim - but we felt we had seen what we had come to see.
Our trip back towards Adelaide saw us continue along the Oodnadatta track to Coober Pedy, zipping along the red dirt road against a background of deep blue sky and abundant green plantlife. We enjoyed an all-too-brief stop in the Clare Valley the next day for wine, lunch and a rhythm & blues band, before heading back to Adelaide to return our vehicle (only a few minutes late!) and thank the friendly Apollo crew for providing the means for our desert adventure. A fabulous trip - ironically because of all the different water sources that we saw along the way!

Is it possible to travel 2,000km and see heaps of spectacular destinations in only a week? With our Apollo Nissan Patrol we squeezed in plenty of sights and adventures in our Easter trip to Adelaide and outback South Australia...
We flew into the Flinders Ranges, where our Patrol held its own, along the bumpy creek beds, and left all the roos alone.
From the rugged Ranges, north to the outback, where we took a left-hand turn onto the Oodnadatta Track.
We camped at Muloorinna, beside a billabong, passing through the Dog Fence, 5,000kms long.
Through a mudstone moonscape then along a sandy way, Lake Eyre North the destination for the night of our 4th day.
Stopping by the sandy salt pan, salt crystals all around, crunchy-crunch with every step across the sparkling ground.
Zipping off the next day, leaving the salty lake behind, we cruised to Coober Pedy, the Opal Festival in mind.
South down the Stuart Highway, we cut down through Kingoonya, had a feed at the pub, then headed on to Woomera.
Next stop Melrose where we camped among the trees, dinner at SA's oldest pub with local vino, if you please!
Day 8, day 8, time to return the car - surely Clare to Adelaide isn't very far?
All the red dirt washed away, our final careful deed, and then we said a sad goodbye to our trusty desert steed.
Thanks Apollo for the vehicle, and for a price so cheap, we enjoyed our roadrunning holiday, so thanks again, Meep meep!

On our arrival in Busselton we found that we could get a bus to Occy's Brewery, so off we went and had a nice time in the beer garden. There was a glorious sunset at Busselton pier that evening. Perth was in the middle of its cultural 'Taste of Perth' event, so our first course was these Romanian micis - very good too. The ladies on the Turkish stall were very busy rolling out the flatbread dough. All too soon our trusty Camry was returned to Perth depot and it was time for the long flight back to the UK. We treated ourselves to business class and here I am in my Quantas pyjamas! Thank you Australia and goodnight.

Climbing down to Twighlight Cove was a little tricky, so I didn't bother! We went sightseeing more beaches and coves around Albany and found that everywhere there were steps and more steps to negotiate. One of bays was called Misery Bay and of course the old misery had to be photographed on his personal beach! We continued on to Walpole and did the tree top walk and found it to be so wobbly and shaky we didn't take any photos. Coalmine Bay was a treat with these pelicans in residence. They had just woken up and were waiting scraps from the fish gutting in process.

On our way back from Laverton we called at the Broad Arrow Roadhouse/pub and were very amused when a coach party arrived and proceeded to sign the pub as many had before. The bikers arrived for their Sunday drink and a bite and I thought this one was a classic. We visited Lucky Bay near Esperance and were pleased to find this Kangaroo enjoying the beach too. At Emu Point in Albany we saw Fido all kitted out for a day of tennis on the beach. All say AAAAh!
